VAN BUREN -- A jury will never hear a detective on video asking an Alma man, "Is that a normal thing to shoot somebody in the face?" if defense attorneys in a double attempted murder case succeed in their arguments.

FORT SMITH -- A Fort Smith man accused of creating a fake realty firm and scamming numerous people out of what adds up to thousands of dollars is in custody after 15 months of eluding law enforcement.

BARLING -- Crews working on the first phase of the Interstate 49 extension between Barling and Alma may have just "made a dent" in some of the construction, but it's a big dent.

FORT SMITH -- Additional charges have been filed against a convicted felon who now has pleaded not guilty to repeatedly beating a 9-month-old boy in incidents recorded on video.

FORT SMITH -- Two men were arrested Friday night after a domestic disturbance and shooting in which one of them was injured and a woman involved also was hurt, according to the Fort Smith Police Department.

VAN BUREN -- A judge ruled jurors will see most of the interview between a detective and the Alma man whose trial starts Tuesday on attempted murder charges that allege he shot his mother-in-law and tried to shoot his father-in-law.

PARIS -- The Logan County Sheriff's Office this week announced two separate arrests of men accused of sexual crimes involving children.

VAN BUREN -- Alma resident Wilma Winborn thought she had a pretty good relationship with her son-in-law -- until he shot her in the face.

VAN BUREN -- An Alma man will spend more than 14 years in prison after a Crawford County jury split a verdict Wednesday and found him guilty of attempting to kill his father-in-law but not guilty of the attempted murder of his mother-in-law, who he shot in the face.
