Lost Sierra Food Project invites the community to gather at Rugged Roots Farm in Quincy for the season's first farm stand June 16, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Plumas District Hospital announces a series of free behavioral health workshops and support groups available to community members throughout the summer and fall. These programs are designed to provide support, connection, education and practical coping tools for individuals across all stages of life.

The store is celebrating its 80th anniversary with a luncheon June 19, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event includes free lunch, free limited edition T-shirts, prizes and more. The store is located at 201 Main St.

Feather River College announces it celebrated its Class of 2026 graduates at the commencement ceremony held May 22 at Brennan Stadium on the college's campus. Many of these students will transfer to other universities to continue their educational journeys, while many others have chosen to stay in the area and find employment locally, said FRC.

The Quincy Area California Highway Patrol announces it is joining the Susanville and Alturas area CHP offices in an enforcement campaign on U.S. 395. The campaign began yesterday, June 12, and covers the highway area from the Oregon to Nevada borders.

The Feather River Land Trust invites the community to a free screening of “The Wings of the Feather River” Friday, June 19, at the Sierra Valley Preserve Nature Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the film starts at 5:30.

David Cannon McKay, 63, of Quincy, California, died unexpectedly of a heart attack May 7, 2026, in the town he had called home for nearly his entire life.

Plumas County reports an urgency ordinance related to recovery from the Beckwourth Complex Fire and the Dixie Fire is scheduled to sunset June 30. The ordinance affects debris and hazard tree removal and emergency interim housing.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection reports that the increasing fire danger posed by dead grass and hotter, drier conditions in the region is prompting the agency to suspend all burn permits for outdoor residential burning within the state responsibility area of Lassen, Modoc and Plumas counties. This suspension takes effect at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, banning all residential outdoor burning of landscape debris.
