At 7:22 p.m., Friday, a caller to 911 reported seeing Adams swimming at Dewey Lake, then go under and not resurface.That prompted a massive response from Prestonsburg Fire Department, Prestonsburg Police, the Floyd County Rescue Squad, the Deparment of Fish and Wildlife Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

A Pikeville family had been searching for their three dogs who had gotten away from their downtown home. On Saturday, one of the dogs, Luna, was spotted trapped on a cliff overlooking the Pikeville Bypass.

This annual event allows everyone to enjoy fishing in waters across the commonwealth without purchasing a fishing license or permit. All other regulations, including size limits and the number of fish an individual is permitted to keep, still apply. Permission is always needed if fishing in private waters.

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — The prosecution has filed its response to a request by Michael McKinney that he be freed from home incarceration and drug testing requirements. McKinney is charged with evidence tampering related to the murder of Amber Spradlin, whose body was found in his home June 18, 2023. McKinney’s son, M.K. McKinney, has been charged with her murder. Police were called to a home on the Right Fork of Home Branch, where a 45-year-old woman had been stabbed multiple times. After the attack the assailant, who the victim identified as Eddie Dmitruk, 58, of Prestonsburg, ran away from the residence.

CLINTWOOD, Va. — Job seekers, students, and individuals interested in career training and community resources are invited to attend the Dickenson County Job Fair on Thursday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Dickenson Center for Education & Research (DCER), located at 818 Happy Valley Drive in Clintwood.

Two state troopers and a sheriff's deputy responded to the call, and after questioning some people at the scene, were given permission to enter the home. Inside the home, they immediately spotted some drug paraphernalia, so they obtained a search warrant, which resulted in the discovery of meth, fentanyl, cocaine, pills, marijuana and paraphernalia.
