The 27Collab hosted its second annual 27 th Avenue Prayer Breakfast on Wednesday at Love International Ministries. University and community leaders, local church pastors and residents gathered to pray for their neighborhood, listen to encouraging messages and prepare for future initiatives.

LOPES Academy hosted 16 alumni Thursday morning for their first alumni summer Olympics. The event featured multiple games, including the "Human Knot," “Head, Shoulders, Knees, Cone” and an intense relay race inside the Lopes Performance Center.

Incoming students got a jump start on the 2026-27 academic year by heading to Herd Camp, which runs through Thursday. It's a chance to get to know the campus, meet fellow Lopes, and learn about the history and core values of GCU. Students over the next few days are doing everything from participate on a Herd Camp Olympics, join in pool parties and small-group discussions, and, if the weather allows, head to Prescott, Arizona, where GCU got its start, for a history tour.

Nine Student Affairs departments competed over nine weeks in the Student Affairs Summer Olympics. The finale was Wednesday in the Canyon Activity Center.

Dr. Mark Wooden was celebrated during a retirement party Wednesday morning at Havoc House.
