A 26-year-old woman, a 41-year-old man and 33-year-old food delivery driver were attacked in the Gold Coast Tuesday night before the two suspects were arrested, police said.

Two suspected carjackers were taken into custody after attacking three people in 20 minutes on the Gold Coast Tuesday night, including the block where Gov. J.B. Pritzker lives, according to police.

The shooting happened about 3:30 a.m. near Paulina Street, officials said.

“We're watching and hoping for a speedy recovery,” said department spokesman Larry Langford of the 40-year-old firefighter/paramedic.

A good Samaritan who saw a woman open the doors of a moving CTA train and plunge to the elevated tracks stepped in to help her Tuesday night on the West Side.

The crash happened outside Forman Mills and is being investigated as a homicide, police said.

Murder charges have been filed against suspect Christian I. Soto, 22. Investigators haven't determined a motive for the attacks, but they say Soto had been smoking marijuana before the rampage.

Nearly 40 shell casings were recovered, most of which were from a rifle late Saturday at the GoLo gas station in the 3700 block of West Roosevelt Road, police said.

Caschaus Tate, 20, stopped investigators at the door, then went out the back of the home and tossed a gun into the yard in the 10800 block of South Hale Street, police said.
