WAVERLY — When Waverly Fire and Rescue volunteers arrived on the scene on Jan. 16, they knew it wasn't going to be a normal call.

WAVERLY, Neb. — After two long years, the wait for Waverly residents to try the city's first Mexican restaurant is almost over.

The Saunders County seat was chosen as the inaugural partnership in the Nebraska National Guard's Community Partnership Program, an initiative spearheaded by first-year Nebraska National Guard Adjutant General Craig Strong aimed at strengthening relationships and communication between his organization and cities throughout the state.
