As the remnants of Beryl move across East Texas quiet weather returns. A northwest wind will be present today on the backside of Beryl keep temperatures below normal.

The next several days will be very warm with highs mostly in the mid-90s. There will be enough humidity to produce afternoon heat index readings of 98 to 103.

As we reach the statistical peak of summer heat in North Texas we will undergo a stretch of cooler-than-normal weather. The normal high from July 23 through August 14th is 97 degrees. This is the hottest normal high temperature we see all year.

A disturbance from the northwest and cause scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop Sunday. A few thunderstorms could produce gusty winds, but the overall threat for severe weather is low.

A frontal boundary draped to our south and a trough in the jet stream will allow for a daily chance for showers and thunderstorms in North Texas.
