For many years, Palisadian-Post readers have taken a print edition of the newspaper along with them as they traveled the globe. Here are some of the places the Post has traveled to in 2025 for our Postcard section, including Los Angeles Fire Department Station 69.

Paci f ic Palisades: The Community That Shaped Me There have been many challenging stories to write in 2025, and this letter is among them.

Rooted in the belief that art can serve as a symbol of “hope, resilience and new beginnings during times of profound loss,” Rustic Canyon resident Laura Ornest is coordinating the giveaway of original paintings free to individuals and families who lost their homes in the 2025 Los Angeles fires. The giveaway, Gestures of Love, is being conducted through the Outsider Project, featuring art created by Laura's late brother, Maury Ornest. Ornest's artwork has been described as “bold, whimsical and unapologetically brilliant.”

Pacific Palisades restaurateurs Chef Gianbattista “Gianba” and Marlo Vinzoni have closed their Venice restaurant, Cinque Terre West, as they prepare to relocate the concept to Austin, Texas, this month.

When the wildfires swept through Pacific Palisades in January 2025, local business owners Fay Vahdani and Ben Adel found themselves fighting to save both their livelihood and their community. In the immediate aftermath of the disaster, the husband-and-wife team worked tirelessly to keep their agency, Luxe Homecare, fully operational for the vulnerable aging adults relying on their services.

They disrupted routines, scattered neighbors and left thousands of families asking the same question: “When can we finally get home?” That question has become the heartbeat of this community. It isn't simply about construction. It's about restoring a life that was interrupted.

Theatre Palisades' latest show, “Kimberly Akimbo,” is in the middle of a three-weekend run, bringing heart to the stage at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble.

Events on the Pali Calendar this weekend include the Woman's Club luncheon for Palisadians over 90; the Santa Monica Pier celebrates Dolly Parton; RYLAN Neighborhood Preparedness Training, hosted by Prepare Palisades; a virtual Book Club for Middle Grade Readers with Palisades Branch Library; the Palisades Lower Marquez Block Party; and the reopening of Villa Aurora.
