Governor Eno has questioned the credentials of unnamed political challengers, saying some live in rented apartments yet seek to govern Akwa Ibom.

Mr Bush was once a political ally of the governor but their relationship deteriorated in recent months.

Patrick Spiff, a media aide to Governor Diri, has resigned without giving reasons. However, his recent social media posts openly supporting the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) suggest a possible shift in political allegiance.

The police have confirmed the rescue and arrest.
