It appears the question of when the great Terence Crawford will return to the ring has been answered. According to numerous reports, the undefeated pound for pound king will make the leap to junior middleweight to take on WBA titlist Israil Madrimov at Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium on August 3’d. It will be the first time the fighter known as “Bud” has fought since completely dominating Errol Spence in a welterweight championship superfight last summer. For the Madrimov fight, Crawford will once again be moving up in weight, much as he did from lightweight to junior welterweight, then from junior welterweight to welterweight as his career progressed.

Saudi Arabia’s Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alalshikh has become a top figure in the world of professional boxing over the past few years. Now the Saudi authority is introducing himself to the world of US boxing by promoting the August 3’d junior middleweight title bout between Terence Crawford and Israil Madrimov. The scheduled 12 rounder will go down at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, making it the first time Alashikh will make his mark in America. Analysts are arguing Alashikh might be changing the fight game and perhaps he is.

The fight was scheduled for ten rounds.

The 28-1 Jose Carlos Ramirez was looking to impress his fellow Californians on Saturday night when he battled the 30-2-1 Rances Barthelemy at the Save Mart Arena in Fresno. It was the first fight in over a year for Ramirez, who was once junior welterweight world champion and was now aiming to return to the top of the heap. The veteran Barthelemy, on the other hand, was looking to shake things up by proving he was more than a fighter past his prime. The fight was scheduled for twelve rounds.

It’s being reported the Voluntary Anti Doping Association (VADA) has found that Ryan Garcia tested positive for the banned substance Otariine. According to Dan Rafael, who broke the news, two tests – both of which showed the Performance Enhancing Drug in Garcia’s system – were collected on the 19th of April, the day before Garcia’s shocking victory over Devin Haney, and after the Haney fight on April 20th.

Let’s start with the fact that people believe Canelo Alvarez is slipping. He may only be 33 years of age, but the red haired star has faced a whose who of opponents, from Floyd Mayweather all the way down to Dmitry Bivol. These things take their toll. Throw in the fact that Canelo hasn’t stopped an opponent since he bested Caleb Plant before the final bell almost three years ago, and it’s easy to see why people feel the future Hall of Famer may well be past his prime. Still, this is Canelo we’re talking about here – a legitimate all time great. Has he really declined so much that he can no longer best the caliber of opponent Munguia represents?
