Lady Titania is better than we saw on her debut at York and is one to consider for each way punters sporting a tongue-tie for the first time in the Ayr maiden at 1.45pm, but she will need a leap forward to get the better of Next Of Kin.

It was interesting (to me at least) no note that William Haggas sends a single raider south for the Lingfield all-weather card, and that Cieren Fallon goes down to ride – though he does at least have a couple of rides for other stables.

Many felt that the potentially one-paced Hope Rising made the most of the long straight at Lingfield to gallop on to score by over five lengths, and if that is correct, Nottingham will suit her even better.

I genuinely believe that hard as it can be to find winners at the higher levels, in general they are more reliable and likelier to run to form – famous last words!

We all know the Andrew Badling horses usually improve for their first racecourse experience, but word reaches me from the Lambourn gallops that newcomer Forbidden Fire has been working well and will be far from disgraced on her racecourse bow.
