Not the most exciting of days for us racing fans but who cares if we can find a winner (or preferably two), though no rush this Monday with both my suggestions running on the evening cards.

My second bet also runs at Windsor when word reaches me from my Newmarket contacts that the George Boughey trained newcomer Mithaaly is reported to be ready to go with a win expected in the 6.20pm over six furlongs.

Cloud Forest is reported to have come on a bundle for his debut sixth, and Saeed bin Suroor’s four-year-old gelding could prove the biggest danger to newcomer Amazonica in the mile and a quarter maiden from Leicester due off at 2.24pm.

Andrew Balding sends Fast Track north to Beverley from his Lambourn base as his only runner on the card and although the price won’t be much, she looks the likeliest winner of the day.

London Is Blue pulled too hard to get home on his return at Bath where he faded before finishing fourth, but he should settle better now after suffering the ultimate punishment of being gelded.

Tipping a 1/10 winner yesterday was more than a touch embarrassing, but I always pick the selections on form and not on price – its all to easy to ignore a big proved option if you look at the price in advance, so I never do – but apologies regardless, though in my defence we did also have a 4/1 winner thankfully.

Break The Bank interests me ahead of the 4.00pm at Hamilton this afternoon with the early tissue suggesting he will go off at somewhere near to the 5/1 mark.

The Ollie Sangster trained Tomarlo has to shoulder top-weight in the 4.25pm at Chepstow this afternoon, but it looks like they may have him a race he can win.

Plenty of racing to work with this Friday in the run-up to the weekend, perhaps too much, but if we can find a winner or two all will be good in the World.

I am all in on a Charlie Appleby/William Buick/Godolphin double this afternoon when then once raced Nabati goes back into action in the Listed Rose Bowl Stakes over six furlongs from Newbury with the stalls set to open at 4.10pm – or just after.
