The Food Safety and Drug Administration Department in Karnataka raided a Zepto warehouse in Hoskote, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, and found the facility in 'extremely unhygienic' condition. Pictures from the raid show food items scattered on the floor. The action comes days after several threestar and fivestar hotels were raided and were found to be noncompliant with health standards.

The Parliament passed the Kerala Alteration of Name Bill 2026 to change the southern state's name to Keralam. In June 2024, Kerala Assembly had passed a unanimous resolution to change the state's name. It was argued that the Malayalam name is 'Keralam' while Kerala is the name used in English. The Bill now needs President's assent to become a law.

After the Kanwar Yatra, which brought about 5 crore pilgrims to Haridwar, authorities are working to clean up the trash left behind. Municipal Corporation Town Commissioner Nandan Kumar said that about 7000 tonnes of garbage was generated in two weeks. Waste is also being collected from markets. Videos showed sanitation workers removing bottles of urine without gloves or masks.

The Tukaram Mundheled Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration FDA suspended the food business licences of four Domino's Pizza outlets for violating hygiene norms. Three of these outlets are in Mumbai and 1 in Satara. The FDA has also suspended the licenses of Mumbai Metro Dhaba in Mulund and GulshanDaPunjabi Dhaba in Bhandup over shortcomings like pest control and food storage.
