Buchanan, Tenn.–Congratulations to Caige Bragg of Springville High School in Alabama, who claimed victory at the 2026 Strike King Lure Company Bassmaster High School Championship at Paris Landing Marina. Bragg took the lead the first day and never let go. After three incredible days of competition, Bragg finished on top with an impressive 3-day total of 38 pounds, 4 ounces. A phenomenal performance and an unforgettable championship victory. Hundreds of family and friends of the 215 anglers were in Henry County for the tournament and Paris and Kentucky Lake received a lot of national attention. Chamber Director Caleb Grissom said, “It's been a great two weeks welcoming anglers and family from across the country. We hope they all experienced some wonderful Paris-Henry Co. hospitality and look forward to seeing them again soon!”

Paris, Tenn.–You probably saw the yellow school buses moving through your neighborhoods this morning and that means one thing: today is the first day of school in the Henry County School System. There were plenty of smiles this morning as teachers greeted the kids, as you can see in the photo which was taken at Henry School. Today will be an abbreviated day and there will be no school for students on Thursday due to Election Day. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday will be full school days. Henry Co. Schools photo.

Paris, Tenn.–The Paris City Commission will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday, August 6 at City Hall. Among agenda items are a resolution relative to a change in the city's procedure for disposal of trees and tree trimmings, a change which the city announced previously.
