MARTIN, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee at Martin Math Craft Laboratory is preparing for another year of bringing local high school students to campus to explore mathematics, build connections and work alongside university faculty.
Paris, Tenn.–Lots of people remember using the card catalog at their libraries but WG Rhea Library in Paris has something different: a FREE Seed Catalog. Partnering with the Henry County Master Gardeners Group, small garden size packets of seeds are assembled. They are then placed in the lovely wooden repurposed card catalog at the library. A person can take up to six packets of seeds per day. From asters to zucchini the small seed packets are great for beatifying a home or feeding a family. It's time to be thinking of fall gardens – specifically beans, lettuce, kale, mustard, collard greens, carrots, parsnips, radish. Stop by W. G. Paris, Tenn.–The Eiffel Tower in Paris is shining bright pink in honor of the passing of Tennessee icon Dolly Parton. Paris Parks and Recreation Director Tony Lawrence said the Eiffel Tower will be pink through Monday night, August 24. Located at Eiffel Tower Park, it is 60 feet tall, and is a 1:20 scale replica of the original located in Paris, France. It can be found at 1020 Maurice Fields Drive. Tony Lawrence photo.
Paris, Tenn.–Two more Henry County Farms were honored as Tennessee Century Farms Tuesday at the annual Century Farms Breakfast at the Henry County Fair.
Paris, Tenn.–The volunteers at ABLE Farms served up a hearty breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and two kinds of sausage at Tuesday's annual Century Farms Breakfast at the Henry County Fairgrounds. The annual event recognizes the Henry County Farms that are at least 100 years old. ABLE Farms is located in Springville and is the successor to the Hoofbeats of Hope equine therapy program.
