A chilly stretch of late May weather will continue through midweek before temperatures rebound heading into Memorial Day weekend. Highs will remain well below average through Wednesday with areas of frost possible tonight into early Wednesday morning, especially across central and western Minnesota. A warming trend will arrive late this week with temperatures climbing back into the 60s Thursday, 70s Saturday and eventually the 80s by Sunday and Memorial Day.
Cooler-than-average temperatures will hang around for another couple of days before a much warmer pattern settles in for the second half of Memorial Day weekend and early next week. While scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will move through Friday
Temperatures will continue warming as we head into Memorial Day weekend, but we still have one round of showers and thunderstorms to get through first. Rain chances will increase Friday afternoon into Friday night with the heaviest rain expected along and west of U.S. Highway 71. After a few lingering showers Saturday morning, the rest of the holiday weekend will be absolutely fantastic with sunshine and temperatures climbing into the 80s by Memorial Day.
