I was thrilled to recently attend the inaugural Readings Big Book Club , which took a deep dive into Homer's epic poem, The Odyssey Despite having never read any of the excellent translations available, the fall of Troy and the story of The Odyssey was, for me, one of those hyperfixations you develop as a child and never really get over (see also: Atlantis, the fall of the Romanovs, ancient Egypt, Anne Boleyn, The Wizard of Oz , and Pompeii).
