A visitation for Barb Caulkins, age 67 of Pleasantville will be held at Pleasantville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 302 W Dallas, Pleasantville, Iowa, on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the church. A luncheon will follow. Private family burial will be at Carlisle Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pleasantville Youth Initiative. Duane Allan Gordon, 66, of Swan, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024, at his home. He was born on April 30, 1958, in Des Moines, IA to Kenneth and Grace Gordon. Duane was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. He was an avid outdoorsman. He had a passion for Indian artifacts. His collection is noteworthy. He loved being in nature and had calling to it. He enjoyed hunting and was a master at completely harvesting game. Among other notable successes in nature, he was awarded North American Top Lot Trapper by the NAFA in 2011. While in nature, he was compassionate and he took in baby animals of all kinds, making for unique pets. There was nothing Duane could not fix. He was an expert carpenter. His business was repairing and building. He was resourceful and able to figure out how things worked. His hands were his tools. He was employed and enjoyed working for Larry Murphy, and later himself. He is survived by his son, Sean (Jamie) Gordon, his grandson, Ben Gordon of Swan, IA, and his brother, Dave Gordon of Scottsdale, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth, and Grace Gordon. Duane will be greatly missed. He had lots of friends and will be remembered by the many stories they have to tell. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial services for Daniel Sorensen, age 66, of Pella, will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, October 8th at the Third Church in Pella. Visitation will he held from 4:00- 7:00pm, Monday at the church. The Garden Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Rita Sue (Maggard) Milligan, 79, of Mingo, died on Friday, October 4, 2024, at Taylor House in Des Moines. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Ashton Chapel in Mingo, followed by burial at Union Chapel Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 4-6 p.m., Wednesday, October 9, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials to either Ashton Chapel or Taylor House may be left at the church the day of the service or at the funeral home.

Graveside services for Ron Rodgers age 81, of Knoxville, will be held Thursday, October 10th at 11:00am at the Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. A luncheon will be held following the service at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Knoxville. Memorials may be made to the Marion County Humane Society.
