The Duxbury Selectboard had hoped that a wooden bridge expert’s report would provide the information they were seeking to make a decision on the future of the Powder Point Bridge; however, after a review by the town’s consultant engineers, that report has raised more questions than answers.

There are 200 homes in Duxbury that receive their water directly from the Lakeshore Drive well, which has levels of PFOA, a type of PFAS chemical, over the EPA’s maximum contaminant level of 4 parts per trillion. On Monday, the Selectboard wrestled with whether they should notify these people specifically about this issue or inform the whole town and explain what the town is doing about it.
