LAWRENCEVILLE – There is a new business open in Lawrenceville, Virginia. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Thursday, April 30, 2026 for Guiding Light Family Services, LLC located at 203 North Main Street in the former Peebles building. The Brunswick County Department of Economic Development sponsored the event.

LAWRENCEVILLE – Benjamin John Sodat, 37, from McKenney, Virginia is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on May 8, 2026.

LAWRENCEVILLE – Many would agree that graduating from high school is a major turning point the both the graduate and his or her family. It is saying goodbye to friends and hello to new opportunities. The Brunswick High School commencement was held Saturday, May 16, 2026 in the gymnasium. There were lots of hugs and a few tears from the graduates. I saw several personalized T-shirts and caps decorated noting the graduates' special personality.

LAWRENCEVILLE – Brunswick Academy held the 62nd Annual Baccalaureate and Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 30, 2026 to honor the Class of 2026. A total of 35 graduates were honored.

Felony eluding case investigated.

LAWRENCEVILLE – Ronald Bolanos-Pereura, 28, from Henderson, N.C. is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle on June 4, 2026. He is also charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, open container/drinking while operating a motor vehicle, DUI: refusal of blood or breath test, reckless driving speeding and no valid operator's license on the same date.

LAWRENCEVILLE – The Lawrenceville Town Council adopted the FY2026-2027 Budget at the June meeting. A public hearing on the proposed FY2026-2027 Budget was held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
