Rank outsider Royal Attire broke a 16-month drought for popular Warrnambool trainer John Brooks when he won a $32,000 maiden highweight over 1600 metres at Hamilton last Sunday. Royal Attire hung on under Nathan Newton to defeat War No More by three-quarters of a length in gruelling conditions on a heavy 10 track.
