BEAUFORT — Phase 4 of the Live Oak Street / NC 101 Roundabout Project is scheduled to begin Monday, June 1. The work will result in the closure of Live Oak Street between Crescent Drive and Center Street while crews perform roadway work to install a sanitary sewer line, storm drain, new ditches, curb and gutters, sidewalks and asphalt.

SWANSBORO — Investigators have recovered human remains in Carteret County believed to be connected to the disappearance of an 84-year-old Swansboro woman missing since January and presumed dead, authorities said Thursday.

BEAUFORT — Construction remains on schedule for Beaufort’s Live Oak Street/NC 101 Roundabout Project, with crews anticipated to begin installing subdrain systems, followed by asphalt base layers this week. Curb and gutter work is expected to begin during the week after the Fourth of July holiday.
