An Indianapolis man has been indicted on charges of theft and possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Both are Class-2 felonies. Investigators say 21-year-old Nicholas Harmon stole a 2019 Dodge Challenger Hellcat from Sierra Motors in Ottawa. The vehicle disappeared from the lot in early November. To investigators, it looked like the suspect had broken out a window to get access to the car.

A mobile food pantry is coming to the Bureau County Fairgrounds in Princeton.

Two Seneca High School students are recovering from a Wednesday-morning ATV rollover. At about 10:30, rescuers were called to the high school's Agriculture building just west of Seneca. The report was that the two were trapped in the vehicle but conscious and breathing. Seneca Fire tells WLPO News that a 16-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy were taken to Morris Hospital in stable condition. The department couldn't confirm which student was driving at the time of the rollover.

Where there's smoke, there's fire. And where there's fire, there's the Fire Department. But on Wednesday, some rescuers were left very confused by what they found at the site of a reported fire. Or, rather, what they didn't find.

It sure could have been a lot worse. Nevertheless, when a school bus is involved in a crash, worries abound. Wednesday afternoon just after 3:00, crews responded to the area of Route 251 and May Road in Peru. That's where a Ford Escape had just collided with a school bus carrying passengers. The kids were reported to be OK. The driver of the SUV was the only person injured, and was transported to a hospital.

Well, that was fast.

The Illinois Board of Higher Education has awarded fellowships to 76 nurse educators from community and four-year colleges around the state. And one comes from the faculty of Illinois Valley Community College.

La Salle-Peru Township High School is proposing a change to its policy on students with electronic devices, and the school has scheduled public meeting to discuss the change before it's voted on by the school board.
