Back in late April, the first softball game between Mount St. Joseph Academy and Villa Maria Academy was hardly a pitchers’ duel; the Mount Magic won 19-14. June 16 marked the start of the 2026 season for the women’s basketball summer league that was founded more than 30 years ago at Chestnut Hill’s Water Tower Recreation Center.
Because the two courts in Plymouth Whitemarsh High School’s West Gym were unavailable last week, teams in the women’s summer basketball league played a total of four games over two nights on a single court at the other end of the school.
