Lebanon, Pa. — A deer with the word “pet” spray-painted on its sides in bright orange letters was found wandering around a community in Lebanon County on the first day of rifle deer season.

Lawmakers created the Michigan Wildlife Council to educate the public on the role hunters and anglers play in conservation.

Stewart said a side benefit of the one-buck rule is hunters would likely be more selective in harvesting older, larger bucks.
