Players coming off their freshman seasons often struggle in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. Between wood bats and veteran pitchers, it can be a bumpy ride, especially for hitters.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – Games against the Newport Gulls have brought out some solid performances by the Ocean State Waves. With a 4-3 win over the Gulls on Friday night at Cardines Field, the Waves now own a 2-1 lead in the season-long Pell Bridge Series.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN – Five members of the Ocean State Waves have been selected to participate in the New England Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game.

Cooper Maher, from Westerly, will transfer to Duke before his sophomore baseball season.
