The Judiciary Police (PJ) have warned the public about fraudulent advertisements circulating on Facebook, where scammers impersonate local travel agencies or specialty food retailers to sell discounted buffet vouchers and premium food items such as steak packages. The fake pages lure victims with attractive prices and direct them to pay via MPay. Between 22 and 24 of this month, PJ received 10 reports from residents who fell victim to the scam, with losses ranging from MOP410 to more than MOP17,000, totaling approximately MOP52,000. The Commission Against Corruption (CCAC) has uncovered a long-running corruption scheme in which a local supplier allegedly paid monthly kickbacks to secure subcontracted parcel delivery services from an international courier company’s Macau branch. According to investigators, the supplier paid no less than HKD20,000 per month between 2020 and 2025 to the courier company’s then-Macau head. In return, the executive allegedly recommended the supplier in tender processes, disclosed competitors’ pricing, and facilitated contract renewals. The Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) has partnered with Sands China to launch the “Passenger Services Integrated Talent Development Program,” offering six supervisor trainee positions under a “hire-first, then train” model. Macau’s two main bus operators recorded improved financial performance in 2025, supported by record passenger demand and lower fuel costs, with combined net profit exceeding MOP97.1 million. Results published in the Official Gazette show that Transportes Urbanos de Macau (Transmac) and Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos de Macau (TCM) both posted stronger earnings compared with the previous year. The Cultural Affairs Bureau has announced that a temporary stage at the Macao Outdoor Performance Venue in Cotai has been completed and is now available for booking by arts groups and community associations.
