Yamaha recently announced the RX300A and RX500A, two new AV receivers that will be taking their respective places in the company’s entry- and step-up AV receiver lineups. Both RX Series units are said to be capable of delivering Dolby Atmos immersion, support for 4K/120Hz HDMI for gamers, 8K video, and enhanced wireless streaming. (Spoiler alert: We already like what we’re seeing here.)

What better way to revive The S&V Interview than reconvene it by talking with the wizard and true star himself, Todd Rundgren? Recently, I got on Zoom with Todd — who was then-ensconced in his home/studio compound in Hawaii — to discuss his rich recorded legacy, as well as his aptly titled “Damned If I Do” summer tour, which just got underway last night (June 11, 2026) in St. Charles, Illinois, and runs through July 19, 2026.

Canadian speaker manufacturer PSB have just announced the iQ Series, a new generation of all-in-one streaming speakers. The iQ Series launches with two models: the iQ1, an introduction to PSB’s line of streaming speakers, and the iQ2, a true wireless stereo system in a choice of seven premium finishes, including a premium walnut veneer. For those about to rock, AC/DC salutes you! Not only that, but AC/DC PWR/UP Pop Ups will open in every city on the upcoming final leg of the legendary Australian rock band’s 2026 North American stadium tour that commences a week from today on July 10, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Apparently, even utopia still has the option to evolve. What we mean by that is, the noted French manufacturer Focal have just introduced their new Scala Utopia Evo M loudspeakers, which are said to be (in their words) “a major evolution of an iconic model” in their Utopia line. More specifically, the Scala Utopia Evo M speakers incorporate two key innovations — namely, the PRISM tweeter and the M-profile W midrange — so let’s dig deeper into what both of these developments signify.

Derek Kolstad is the current undisputed king of the action film. Creator of the pulse-pummeling John Wick franchise (five installments and counting on 1080p BD and/or 4K UltraHD), in recent years, he’s shepherded, co-produced, and written a pair of new action film series starring Better Call Saul’s Emmy-nominated lead Bob Odenkirk (seen above): Nobody (two installments on 4K UltraHD to date) and their latest collaboration, Normal.

The Mac is back — not that they ever left, mind you. Long-respected home- and pro-audio manufacturer McIntosh have just announced the launch of the MX124 A/V processor, a 13.4-channel, home theater A/V processor that offers support for immersive-audio formats, 8K video, advanced room correction, and integrated music streaming.
