ITHACA, N.Y. – It was a lengthy 3.5 hour meeting for the City of Ithaca Planning and Development Board on July 28. While there were no big decisions on the docket this month. board members at times conflicted with each other about what they wanted to see from applicants, leaving the path forward unclear at times.

ITHACA, N.Y. — A little bit more of Tompkins County is set to be preserved after a committee of county legislators recommended the county appropriate $94,000 towards the acquisition of three parcels by the Finger Lakes Land Trust, a conservation nonprofit.

City leaders originally voted to lower the limit in late 2022, but did not initially allocate the funds to replace old signage.

ITHACA, N.Y. — Today’s sun will be the quiet start for an otherwise active week of weather, with risks for rain Monday and Wednesday-Thursday. A sunny if cool spell for the end of the week will be the first taste of fall jacket weather, though it should only be around for a couple of days. No major weather disruptions are expected this week, though some some non-severe thunderstorms will be possible from Monday through Thursday.

ITHACA, N.Y. — After 21 years with the City of Ithaca, Director of Planning & Development Lisa Nicholas will retire early next year.

The city has begun the search to fill the vacancy on Common Council after former Alderperson Patrick Kuehl unexpectedly stepped down.
