The Avalanche's third goalie was placed on waivers Monday and reclaimed the following day by the Winnipeg Jets. Colorado initially claimed Kahkonen from Winnipeg on Oct. 11 following a terrible performance from both Alexandar Georgiev and Justus Annunen on opening night.
The Colorado Avalanche (8-8-0) continue their homestand against the Pacific Division-leading Los Angeles Kings (9-5-3) in a nationally televised game.
In the final game before Valeri Nichushkin and perhaps even Jonathan Drouin and Miles Wood returned to the lineup, the Avalanche again relied on their top stars to carry the load offensively. But they've been without Valeri Nichushkin all season and Jonathan Drouin for every game since opening night. Nichushkin's return is confirmed for Friday while Drouin could also return that same night. And of course, the addition of Miles Wood could also shore up the bottom six.
