Wake Forest RHP Chase Burns has been selected number 2 overall in the 2024 MLB Draft by the Cincinatti Reds, making him the highest drafted player in Wake Forest history.
Kutz becomes the 6th first round pick for the Deacs in the past 4 years and is the 3rd highest selected player in program history. In his final season as a Demon Deacon, Kutz was a 2nd Team All-American selection, a 1st Team All-ACC player, and a Golden Spikes Semifinalist. He led the team with 22 homeruns this season, giving him 61 career homeruns over his three-year career with Wake Forest, ranking 2nd in program history.
