DARLINGTON — The entire Redbirds season came down to one play. That play was a quick snap and throw that skipped across the grass and out of the end zone. The incomplete pass — the play the coaching staff was confident would work — would be the last offensive snap of the season for Darlington. The Redbirds lost 36-35 to 10th-ranked Milwaukee Academy of Science (MAS) in Level 2 of the WIAA Division 5 playoffs Nov. 1.

MONROE — American voters took to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 5, facing questions up and down the ballot. Local elections included various positions for county officials, school districts across the state asked voters to pass a variety of referendums to fund operations, and months of commercials and advertisements for state and federal races came to a close.

Monroe school board looking for more information after ‘no’ vote

MONROE — Earlier this school year, Abraham Lincoln Elementary in Monroe was recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, a distinction given by the U.S. Department of Education for its academic excellence or progress in closing achievement gaps.

On Dec. 17, Monroe (3-5, 3-2 Badger) notched its second straight win with a 10-1 blowout win at home against Stoughton.
