On January 23, Altavista Town Council convened beginning with nonprofit budget requests. Maria McCracken, CEO of Altavista Area YMCA, opened voicing appreciation for the 50 year partnership the town council has had with the YMCA, thanking them for last year's $80,000 contribution and requesting $100,000 this year relating 2 million of revenue in 2022, and 4.5 million last year, still only 2 1/2% of the budget needed.
