The performances are scheduled to begin on Thursday with the wigs now in the hands of the Oklahoma City Police Department.Surveillance video showed a suspect stealing the wigs from the fairgrounds less than one week before opening day of the state fair."It's unclear at this point if the person knew these wigs were in there or if this was somebody who wandered into one of the buildings," MSgt. Dillon Quirk with the Oklahoma City Police Department said.Fairground officials say the Jim Norick Arena, the building where the wigs were housed, was secure.Feld Entertainment, the entity that oversees the popular ice-skating show Disney on Ice Presents Magic in the Stars, told KOCO 5 that it has "taken immediate steps to enhance security measures to prevent any future incidents."Oklahoma City police said most of the wigs were recovered, but no arrests have been made."Step one is identifying them and possibly making an arrest," Quirk said.The entertainment company said that the wigs were inside the arena while performers were rehearsing for the upcoming tour. The wigs are "crucial to maintaining the enchanting and authentic appearance of our beloved characters," according to the company.Those at the fairgrounds said that the building was secure when the wigs were stolen. Neuty the Nutria stopped by Sal's Sno-balls in Metairie for an ice cream cone minus the ice cream. Metairie is located outside of New Orleans. Sal's took on at least an inch of water during the flash flood emergency. The stand, known for its frozen deserts, was open Thursday with their full menu available.
