The front-month gas contract in the Dutch TTF hub, currently trading around EUR 37/MWh, hit a one-week low on Tuesday as EU gas storage levels have hit 92.5% full, “giving the impression that the EU is well-prepared for winter,” SEB said in a report.

The front-month LNG contract for October in the JKM settled on Wednesday USD 0.28 lower on the week at USD 13.79/MMbtu (EUR 42.58/MWh) in Nymex.

“It definitely does not mean the pause is over,” said Jason Feer, global head of business intelligence at consultancy Poten & Partners, referring to the granting of a five-year export licence to the 1.4m tonne/year LNG export platform Fast LNG Altamira FLNG1 by the US department of energy.

The tender, announced yesterday, would close on 12 September and was for cargoes to be delivered between 4 October and 29 November, according to Kpler ship-tracking data.

The Everest Energy, with a capacity of 138,000 cubic metres of LNG, or 0.08bcm, loaded its second cargo at the country's Arctic LNG 2 facility – which is subject to US sanctions – and departed early on Saturday, the data showed.
