Grangeville senior Cutter Robinson had recorded longer throws than his 142-2 during events earlier this season, and had thrown even farther in practice — far enough to put what ended up as the winning throw within his reach. “I ended up throwing 14 feet under my PR,” he said. “I had five sector fouls in a row. The ring was just a little wonky. I couldn’t get lined up quite right — but if I had hit a two-foot PR, I could have taken the gold. I’ve thrown at least 165 in practice, but you’ve got to do it in a meet.”
