Four women walked into Friday's edition of "WWE SmackDown" with dreams of becoming the inaugural Women's United States champion, but only two walked out of Hartford with a championship opportunity to their name. After two hard-fought semifinals matches, Michin and Chelsea Green are now expected to take their talents to Saturday Night's Main Event, where they will compete for the honor of being the inaugural Women's United States Champion.

After making her shocking return to AEW programming on the December 11 edition of "AEW Dynamite: Winter is Coming," Toni Storm took on Harley Cameron in her first match since All In 2024. Storm walked out with the victory after a showcase of vintage Storm moves and mannerisms, but not without speculation over her memory surfacing, both in the heat of the combat and in the leftover social media smolder.

Long Island filed into the inaugural revival of WWE's historic Saturday Night's Main Event believing that Jesse Ventura would be the only special guest in attendance. "Let's go!" reverberated through the Nassau Coliseum, and to the shock of everyone, Pat McAfee appeared to lend his voice to what was now-guaranteed to be an electrifying NBC special.

Long Island cheered, booed, gasped, and shouted as GUNTHER defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship not only against returning Damian Priest, but dark horse and WWE World Tag Team Champion Finn Balor at Saturday Night's Main Event. All three men were taken to the limit in their Triple Threat title, but by the time the smoke cleared, it was GUNTHER who stood tall over all.

Word spreads through the wrestling grapevine, and even though Kevin Owens' assault on Cody Rhodes and following altercation with Triple H occurred after Saturday Night's Main Event went off the air, most of the wrestling community is aware of Owens'actions. In response to the influx of attention, Owens rook to social media to correct the narratives that have spawned after Saturday's NBC special ended.

Fans and commentary gasped as Liv Morgan took a face full of IYO SKY's boots during Saturday's intense WWE Women's World Championship title defense. As Morgan emerged with a bloodied nose, the recently-returned Pat McAfee loudly wondered if she had broke her nose in the heat of her title defense. Pro Wrestling Insider is now reporting that, despite the blood trickling from her nose, Morgan is not injured, and is expected to resume her activities without delay.

Toni Storm's antic on this weekend's "AEW Collision" show have led to more speculation about her character's mental state and gimmick change.

Zoey Stark took her first televised victory in months to progress to the Women's Intercontinental tournament semifinals on "WWE Raw."

The December 20 episode of "AEW Rampage: Holiday Bash" saw a change in the points landscape for the Continental Classic's Gold League. With Continental Classic semifinals and finals at Worlds End just a little over one week away, Brody King took on Komander in a frenzied effort to add even more points to his decorated score card. By the time the dust cleared, King came out with three more points to his name, officially creating a five-way tie in the current Gold League standings.
