The Winter Wonderland is here — this Saturday, Dec. 7, in the BBC Community Center, which was formally the First Christian Church building. Santa will be arriving at 6 p.m. via firetruck, so get there early. He will listen to last minute requests and then refreshments will be served in the dining area. The sanctuary is decorated with snow covered trees with a special place for Santa. It will be a magical moment for everyone.

It was a wonderful Winter Wonderland at the community center this past Saturday, Dec. 7.
The City of Brookport celebrated the Christmas season with its annual Winter Wonderland. Held at the BBC Community Center on Saturday, Dec. 7, Santa arrived on a Brookport firetruck to dozens of smiling faces. A candy cane lane directed the children to Santa, who was ready to hear last-minute requests and pose for pictures. Afterward, attendees enjoyed cookies and hot chocolate.

Here we are at the start of a new year. I have sunshine this Monday morning so that bodes well to me even though I am still in the year 2024 writing this. Just two more days before it is officially 2025 which is supposed to have a temperature change to the colder days. Hopefully the rest of this winter will pass without any major events – ice storms, flooding, etc.
