Not only has the number of dogs in area shelters increased, but the amount of time they're staying in the shelter has increased too. Some dogs have been there for a year or more.

A few scattered showers are not out of the question for the morning commute, but we're not looking at any widespread impacts.

Warmer temperatures, higher humidity continue into next week

We're starting out the morning with temperatures in the low 70s and a chance of a scattered thunderstorm or two in the northern portions of the Tri-State. The better rain and storm chance comes later in the day between one and six p.m. Models are showing another round of showers and thunderstorms this evening between seven and nine. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a marginal risk of severe weather today. That's a level one out of five and a step down from yesterday's risk. The main threats are localized flooding and damaging wind gusts.

The morning is starting out with some scattered showers across the Tri-State, mainly in our Indiana counties.

Humidity continues Saturday along with a chance for severe weather

Temperatures are starting out a bit cooler than yesterday in the mid-to-upper-60s and we'll see that trend continue into the afternoon.

Temperatures will start out in the low-to-mid-60s today and only rise to a high of 79.
