Wednesday is beginning with partly cloudy conditions and temperatures on the cooler side.
Severe thunderstorms that woke many of us up this morning are finally exiting Northeast Mississippi, but heavy rainfall lingers. Showers will last for the first half of the day as many assess damage from earlier strong winds. Rain will taper off by Friday evening, but overcast skies and isolated showers will remain in place over the weekend.
Temperatures are mild on this Sunday morning due to widespread cloud cover and rainfall that passed overnight, but things are mostly dry as we step outside the door. Starting out in the mid 50s, we will only be in the mid to lower 60s for the afternoon high temperatures because of overcast skies.
Saturday is starting out with partly cloudy skies and a stray shower or two as yesterday's low pressure system exits to our east. The overcast skies from overnight left our temperatures warmer than usual with most of us beginning today in the mid 50s. Skies will continue to clear throughout the day leaving us with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the mid to upper 60s for this afternoon.
Saturday is starting off with temperatures around 10 degrees cooler than average in many spots. We are in the mid 30s to lower 40s, but thankfully we will be much warmer by this afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 60s with a few spots possibly even warming to 70 degrees under partly cloudy skies.
High pressure will keep us on the dry side over the next several days. That being said, temperatures on Friday will be slightly below average with the high being in the upper 60s as opposed to the mid 70s.
Saturday is starting out with mild temps and scattered showers, both of which will continue throughout the day. We could see some brief heavy rainfall, however it looks like we will see little, if any chances for some severe weather across the area. The better chances for that will be found to the southeast and to the west of our area. These will last throughout the overnight period and into Sunday morning.
We continue to see scattered showers early on Sunday morning, but sunshine will return by this afternoon. The last round of rainfall will exit to our east by lunchtime, leaving behind mostly sunny conditions to end the day. High temperatures will still be below average thanks to the rain and northerly winds, with highs peaking in the lower to mid 60s.
As we head out the door for church in the morning, temperatures will be in the low to mid 60s.
