Yilong Liu’s comedic drama follows loving and regret-filled California dad Raymond, as he embarks on an impossible mission – to follow the breadcrumbs left by his late son Archie via his popular Yelp page.

A wall at the back of the room is being punched repeatedly, signalling the arrival of our topless, snarling hero. Furiozo runs at speed around the venue; as if pumped full of sugar and steroids – but when the music stops, he delicately reaches his arm out to shake hands with the audience in front of him. He fights a bear on stage – except it’s a tiny stuffed bear that he dramatically wrestles to the ground; he points a gun at the audience – except, it’s just his hand as an imaginary weapon; and he does an epic Evel Knievel-style daredevil jump over the crowd – except, it’s a tiny, plastic kid’s bicycle that we all collectively have to pass around.

Love, heartbreak and humour are the tropes you’ll find in any romantic dramedy worth its salt. So naturally, Natalie Palamides’ take on a 90s rom-drom parodies all the clichés, conceits and hallmarks of the genre in the most insane way imaginable.

As Bangtail swaggers onto the stage and proclaims himself to be ‘the baddest man in Texas’, it’s hard not to believe him. He does, after all, have an impressive moustache and no matter how many times he’s shot, he simply can’t be knocked down.

Their debut solo hour No Babies In The Sauna is like a fever dream – alternating between stories of being a clown school dropout and solving the great mystery that is the science of comedy, with Yozi gleefully taking us along on an unhinged ride towards their growth.
