Without a doubt, it has been a hot start to October. Many records have been set within the first seven days of the month with highs in the triple-digits.

Another quiet, early fall day across Northern California Tuesday with highs in the 70s and 80s. Enjoy the quiet weather before bigger changes arrive Wednesday and stick around through the end of the week.

Fall has finally arrived in Northern California, and the last few days have really shown that the season can offer a variety of weather.

A quick-moving storm was just enough to give us another taste of winter at the beginning of the week as it brought steady valley rain and six inches of snow to the Sierra.

The next few days will be a dramatic weather shift. From bitter cold to widespread rain and significant Sierra snow, impacts peak Wednesday through Saturday as our first major storm system of the season arrives.

After some dry time this weekend, our next storm system has arrived -- bringing more rain and snow to Northern California before Thanksgiving.

After a busy November, the start of December has been the complete opposite. Foggy mornings, sunny skies, and seasonable temperatures have dominated the forecast and will continue to do so until we see a pattern change.

The start to December has been quiet across Northern California with no rain in the forecast since late November.

Another storm system is moving into Northern California just in time for Christmas Eve, bringing widespread rain to the valley and snow to the Sierra.
