Week five of Bay County football is here and this will be the hub for coverage and scores of this week's Thursday and Friday games. Monitor this page as it will be updated with scores and with the chance of severe weather, any potential game delays or cancellations.

Bay District schools announced that schools will be closed Thursday, Sep. 26 out of an abundance of caution due to potential storm impacts coming from Tropical Storm Helene. After-school sporting events are canceled for Wednesday and Thursday, the school district announced Tuesday.

We have reached the final week of the regular season for Bay County football teams. But first, we look back on how I did for my Week 10 predictions. I went 4-0 last week, bringing my season total to 38-7.

The FHSAA has released the playoff brackets for the 2024-25 postseason. Three local teams — Mosley, Arnold and Bay — have qualified for the playoffs and have received seeding and locations for the first round.

Last Friday was the conclusion of the regular season and the FHSAA unveiled the state playoff bracket, which sparked mixed reactions. The bracket excluded teams that were disqualified due to violations and forfeits, and some of the first-round matchups require egregious travel — such as Chipley, which faces a seven-hour journey to play against Pahokee.However, close to home, we had three teams qualify for the state playoffs with Mosley and Bay winning their respective district championships and Arnold finishing with a 7-3 record and placing second in Class 4A District 2.
