Showers and thunderstorms are possible at times today, some of which could contain locally heavy rainfall. We’ll get a break from the rain chances Sunday, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower-80s. Multiple rounds of showers and storms could then move through the area from late Sunday night all the way through Monday night. We’ll especially be keeping an eye on Monday afternoon into Monday night, when some storms could be strong to severe and contain damaging winds, along with the potential for localized flooding. More scattered storms Tuesday and Wednesday also bring the possibility of locally heavy rainfall.

Multiple rounds of showers and storms could move through the area from tonight through Monday night ahead of a cold front. Not everyone will get storms. Many locations will stay completely dry. We’ll especially be keeping an eye on Monday afternoon into Monday night, when where storms do develop, they could be strong to severe and contain damaging winds, along with the potential for localized flooding. Tuesday will feature a chance for scattered showers, with thunderstorm chances returning again Wednesday. Again, not everyone will get these storms.

Partly cloudy skies are expected for Saturday. Temperatures remain in the lower 80s. Cloud cover gradually increases through the day, but the rain should hold off. A stray sprinkle or two may be possible for the evening, but Saturday is a mostly dry day. For Sunday, have the rain gear handy as we could see a few rounds of showers and thunderstorms. Not everyone will see rain, but where rain develops, it could be on the heavy side, with widely scattered flooding possible. An isolated shower could linger Monday morning before dry weather returns for the rest of the day. Mostly sunny skies are expected for Tuesday, meaning nice weather for 8 Great Tuesdays.

Sunday will be much cooler, with highs only reaching the lower-70s. It will also be quite breezy and there will be a chance for waterspouts on Lake Erie as the cooler air moves over the relatively warm water. Most areas should dry out for Monday, though an isolated shower is still possible, along with the continuation of the breezy conditions and chance for waterspouts. Monday looks even cooler than Sunday, with highs struggling to reach the 70-degree mark. Just about everywhere should see mostly sunny skies return Tuesday, with highs warming to the mid-70s. Areas of western New York would have the best chance to see some light showers linger Tuesday. Wednesday will be mostly sunny everywhere, with highs rebounding back to around 80 degrees.

The weather looks just fine for the final 8 Great Tuesdays of the season, with highs in the mid-70s. Wednesday should see a return to mostly sunny skies everywhere, with highs rebounding to around 80 degrees,

An overall nice day is expected Wednesday, with a mix of sun and clouds. High temperatures look to bounce back into the lower 80s. We could see a stray shower or thunderstorm after sunset, but most activity should hold off until after midnight tonight. Even then, rain chances will be pretty scattered. A few showers and storms will be likely on Thursday, though there will be plenty of breaks in the action and sunshine at times. We’re all back to mostly sunny skies for Friday. The final weekend of August is looking nice with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the upper-70s to lower-80s. Tuesday is the first day of September and we start off the month with highs in the lower 80s and the chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm.

Humidity increases for Monday and Tuesday as highs climb into the mid-80s. A stray shower or thunderstorm can’t be ruled out, but most areas will stay dry to start the week. Chances for a shower or thunderstorm increase slightly on Wednesday, with highs in the lower-80s.
