The 25th annual Hardin County observance of the National Day of Prayer was conducted Thursday by the flagpoles in front of the County Government Building in Elizabethtown.

While touring booths set up for the Small Business Expo, Darrell Locke stopped to register for a prize drawing offered by Cosmic Golf and talked with Kennady Follas, marketing coordinator, about the Elizabethtown attraction. The event Wednesday at the Pritchard Community Center preceded the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce monthly meeting.

Election Day is Tuesday but voting begins today.

During the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce luncheon Thursday, local legislators were interviewed by Ashli Watts of the Kentucky Chamber about the recent General Assembly session. Pictured from left are Watts, Sen. Matt Deneen, Rep. Steve Bratcher and Rep. Samara Heavrin. All three were recognized by the state chamber as having 100% scores based on its pro-business agenda.

A group of local residents promoting the PinkDot Initiative and its week-long observance known as National Period Poverty Awareness Week gained support around the community. The effort was designed to build awareness and collect donations of menstrual products to women and young girls in Hardin County. Elizabethtown City Council acknowledge its work and presented a proclamation at its meeting Monday. Hardin Fiscal Court took a similar action at its meeting this week.

Election Day is tomorrow but nearly 3,000 Hardin Countians already are wearing “I Voted” stickers. The early voting period continues to be embraced locally.
