ALLEN PARK -- Losing David Montgomery is a massive blow to the Detroit Lions and who they want to be and how they want to play.

Ragnow, Glasgow and, no surprise, Montgomery were not at Thursday's practice. Reeves-Maybin had his 21-day clock opened, though, for some good news.

NFL Network reports Montgomery might have avoided the season-ending surgery the Lions spoke of earlier this week and could return for the playoffs.

Glasgow and Ragnow were spotted at Friday's practice in the open portion to reporters.

Brian Branch, Graham Glasgow and Ifeatu Melifonwu are listed as questionable. David Montgomery and Jalen Reeves-Maybin are out.
