After Thanksgiving, many people rev up for gift shopping and winter fun. For those whimsy-craving Tucsonenses who are drawn to funky holiday activities, here are some events to pencil into your calendars.

"The Nutcracker" is beloved around the world for its whimsical story, magical settings and a large cast of characters.

ZUZI! Dance's 25th Anniversary Winter Solstice celebration will showcase dancers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities with both choreographed dance numbers and aerial components on Friday, Dec. 20 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
