The last night of winter is certainly going to feel like it tonight. A chunk of modified Arctic air has arrived with clouds and even a stray snowflake a possibility this evening. We'll clear our later Monday night which will send lows down to the low and mid 20s and wind chills will be in the teens.

Rain chances will be increasing through the day with the most rain likely in southern and southeastern Kentucky. Shower chances will begin in the morning in the south and will be moving northward through the morning. The rain will remain scattered throughout the day meaning you'll have lots of dry time as well.

We'll be seeing off and on rain through this evening and tonight as we wait for a cold front to slide by. The rain showers will become widespread in the hours just before and just after midnight and will begin to taper off toward morning. The cold front will take temperatures down into the low 40s area wide by morning.

We're enjoyed a wonderful sunny Thursday. We'll see a lot of sunshine again Friday, but there will be a couple of changes, it will be warmer, in the upper 60s, and breezier. It's looking dry for us again, but that may be changing as we head into the Easter weekend.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — To any meteorologist of a certain age, and to anyone who had to endure it, there is one weather day that stands out above all others: April 3, 1974.

Our summer preview will be continuing with very warm to hot temperatures through midweek. Sunday's highs will be back up into the low 80s with enough humidity around you're going to notice it. We'll stay well above normal through Thursday.

After our one day of dryness today, rain is returning in abundance for Friday and it looks like Saturday as well.

After the huge storms Sunday, our weather is now calming down. There were dozens of wind damage reports on Sunday throughout the area. They also led the way to a change in our weather.

After the weekend rains, we've been drying out on Monday, but it won't last. Rain and storms will be on the increase for us as we roll into Tuesday afternoon and evening. Overall, these look like 'garden variety'thunderstorms with a very low severe risk, but a downpour or two can't be ruled out. The rain will last into at least the early part of Wednesday. After that, we look to be drying out for a while. For a lot of us rain over the next couple of days will total out at a half to around an inch, especially in the south.

Friday is going to be absolutely terrific and one of those days that we'd like to bottle and scooch it over a day or 2 into the weekend. We'll enjoy lots of sunshine, very low, comfortable, humidity and a warm afternoon with highs in the upper 70s. Enjoy!
