This weekend: Steady trade winds will bring some showers to the windward side of the islands and inland areas. A weather system west of Hawaii will create clouds and trigger a few heavy showers and thunderstorms on the Big Island’s interior and around Kauai; partly to mostly sunny skies everywhere else.

Oahu: Watch out for heavy rain on the Koolau Mountains tonight—even though it might not seem super wet overall, the wind patterns can trigger intense rain thereFUTURECAST: Tuesday & Wednesday:Good news—the rain chances drop significantly. The upper-level system moves away, and winds become light and variable (meaning they'll be weak and won't have a strong direction). You might still see some showers in the interior areas during late morning and afternoon, but nothing major. Thursday & Friday: Trade winds come back stronger, and conditions stabilize.
