Light winds, and very little upstream moisture favors dry and benign weather for the next several days. The biggest impact in the short-term remains the potential for haze due to vog emissions from Halema’uma’u Crater/Kilauea Volcano
Today will be sunny with hazy conditions, afternoon interior and leeward sprinkles with windward and mauka light rain overnight.
Sunshine with light to moderate winds and mostly dry conditions will prevail through Tuesday night, with a few showers possible along windward slopes and coasts at night and over the island interiors each afternoon. Cold Fronts approaching the Hawaiian Islands may bring more southerly winds.

Life threatening waves are pounding the north and west shorelines of most islands; Filtered Sunshine/Widespread Haze expected statewide until Tuesday
Sunshine with more southerly winds across the western half of the state. Southeasterly winds will persist across the eastern half through tomorrow, focusing light showers over leeward and mauka areas. Trade winds will return by Sunday with a wetter pattern starting Tuesday.
Today: Still sunny but less humid & developing trade wind flow. Much of the state will still be affected by areas of volcanic haze. Trades will gradually become breezy and gusty Monday and Tuesday as modest showers become focused over windward slopes.

FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Locally higher gusts of up to 50mph could happen here in the overnight hours over Maui County. Breezy to locally windy trades will continue with showers favoring windward areas drifting leeward at times on the gusty winds.
Showery remnants of a dissipating cold front continue to spread across the O’ahu this morning and today and Maui County tonight into Monday. Winds may also push showers into Kauai and Hawaii Island tonight as well.
