MICHIGAN CITY — A group of nine baby ducks were rescued from a sewer drain and reunited with their mother Wednesday, according to police here.

Police recovered six machine gun conversion devices, numerous guns, many boxes of ammunition, marijuana products and $3,360 in cash, according to a court document.

"When we told Michael the vehicles were stolen, he stated he had no idea about anything like that," police said.

The couple said they had multiple encounters with the accused over the past few months.

HAMMOND — A crash along the local westbound lanes of Interstate 80 was fouling traffic early Monday, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.

The clerk said she pushed him away and he made his way behind the counter leaving her filled with fear of being hurt.

She also faces a charge of possessing paraphernalia after police said they discovered a near-empty THC vape pen.

PORTAGE — Two women wound up arrested on battery charges after an officer spotted one being dragged early Saturday alongside a vehicle headed south from Central Avenue on County Line Road.

"I am so sorry that (Victim 1) said I'm the one that did this," the defendant said at the time.
