Cam Skattebo, Ashton Jeanty, Travis Hunter was the order of my Heisman Trophy ballot submitted last Monday. Yes, I had the Arizona State running back first, not because he played in my hometown. His stats showed part of the story, but so did the success of the team going from being picked last in the Big !2 to now playing in the College Football Playoff. Did Hunters team make it into the CFP? Jeanty had a terrific season, but going from worst to first on the legs of Skattebo gave him the edge on my ballot. I've saw Marshall Faulk get screwed in 1992 and Christian McCafferey robbed in 2015 ONLY because they didn't play on brand names with several national TV appearances. I was at a couple of dinner parties in the last week and the question of, “is it sustainable for Arizona State football?”, was front and center of the conversations.
