The Lunar Foundation, an organization that advocates for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) artists in Greater Austin, is launching a new initiative to gather data on its community's needs. At a public launch party on June 4, the foundation will also launch a speaker series and raise funds for the Austin-based Japanese-American punk band Peelander-Z, who were injured in a tour van crash.

The European-inspired Bar Fino is still somewhat new on Rainey Street, having opened in late 2025. But its footprint is already growing. In this era of Instagrammable plates and viral videos, Austin food blogger David Douglass knows how to draw attention to local restaurants. In his new online-only PBS show, David Eats Everywhere, he's lending these digital skills to a less social media-based audience, hoping to give immigrant restaurant owners around town a boost to business. David Eats Everywhere will premiere on YouTube on June 10.

An Austin hotel known for its vibrant public spaces is undergoing a rebrand to more fully merge with its parent group's larger portfolio. Formerly known as Downright Austin, a Renaissance Hotel, the property is now known as the Renaissance Austin Downtown Hotel.
